Frequently Asked Questions
Can I keep my existing phone number?
Yes, you certainly can. RJ Cortel will port your current phone number over to the new Phoneline+ service, allowing you to retain your numbers.
Can I use my existing handset?
Any analogue phone can be converted to use a SIP (VoIP Line), this is done using an ATA (Analogue Terminal Adaptor). It is a simple plug and play device.
Can I use my existing broadband?
Of course you can, whilst we recommend that we provide the broadband connection to assist with full end to end support, you are free to use any broadband supplier with this service.
Can I import/export my contacts?
Yes, importing is handled via the Phoneline+ mobile app, allowing you to import contacts which can be used across all of your Phoneline+ devices (Handset, Mobile or Webclient).
Can I still use a fax machine?
This is not possible, Fax machines rely on either PSTN lines, or adapters, unfortunately Phoneline+ does not support fax transmission, Instead we recommend Fax 2 Email.
Can I still use a PDQ machine?
You will need to contact your payment merchant if you are currently using a PDQ machine over the analogue line. They will be able to provide you with an internet enabled terminal.

Smartphone - Allowing you to take your phone calls with you wherever you are. With the Smartphone application you can make and receive calls on the move, all while presenting your business phone number.
PC or Laptop - Login to the webclient from any internet enabled location and continue where you left off, make and receive calls through your laptop speakers and microphone, or connect up a headset. No matter where you are you can stay connected.
ATA - If you wish to retain your current phone, you certainly can, by connecting a small network device called an ATA, you can convert your analogue phone to work with Phoneline+. Once connected, you can make and receive calls over the internet.
IP Handset - If you fancy a more modern handset, we can supply new IP handsets, which can either be deskphones or DECT walkabout handsets, allowing you the flexibility you need.
